A Stage Built For Wonder
Lumen Stagecraft is a producing house in the heart of Troy — 420 seats, one resident company, and a season that moves from ballet to opera to new drama.
We Work Tirelessly To Bring You A Diverse Range Of Productions
Founded in 1998 in a converted lantern factory, Lumen Stagecraft has grown into the region's home for live performance. Our resident company of twenty-two actors, twelve dancers and a nine-piece pit orchestra rehearses, builds and performs under one roof.
Every season balances the great canon — Shakespeare, Tchaikovsky, Sondheim — with new commissions from living writers. If a story deserves a stage, it deserves ours.

What Makes Lumen Different
Resident company
The same actors, dancers and musicians all season — an ensemble that grows sharper with every curtain.
Live music, always
No backing tracks. Our nine-piece pit orchestra plays every note of every performance, night after night.
New work, every year
Each season premieres at least two commissions, workshopped in our studio and built by local craftspeople.
